Quick Infrequent Update #2
on Aug8 2009Very quick, this update. Unless I go on some sort of small tear, or pick up some sort of rant topic … like McDonald’s Ceaser Salad containers. I mean, the whole point of a ceaser salad CONTAINER if it’s not already a pre-mixed-dressing salad is for there to be enough room to *shake* the bloody thing, and they pack it so full of lettuce and whatnot that by the time you put all the croutons and bacon bits and dressing in there, there’s no WAY you’re gonna move any of that… it’s just this big salad chunk, sitting there under plastic, quietly mocking you. And then you’re shaking and shaking, and your arms start to cramp, because you lack the *nutrients* to keep sustained activity up for long periods of time, because you haven’t eaten, because your salad is trapped and all the dressing is gooped in one place… It’s like… ARGH!!
So, like I said … I’d better not get distracted by anything like that.
Writing Update: I found myself obsessing about my new beast around Chapter 22 of Jade Mouse, and I started devoting more and more time to hammering out that last bunch of scenes, and around Friday at noon I began outlining Chapter 25 (the 2-page outline, I already knew what was going to happen, but I do outlines all weird…) and I felt I was on a roll. Turns out I was right, cuz by noon the *next* day (today) it was done. Chapters 25/25 are done, Jade Mouse V1.0 is finished. I’ve been editing some of the chapters as I went, so there won’t be too much of a problem going to V2.0, which is the paper-and-read-out-loud edits on the e-book reader and the Mac.
And, of course, this afternoon I went and bought my new beast. He’s tiny. I’ve named him Beast. He appreciates it, cuz he’s so tiny. The other laptops don’t mess with him that way.
So now I have a few choices to make, but I’m leaning towards continuing on with the Shakespeare project. I should also figure out what I’m going to do for Nanowrimo this year, because it looks like I’ve got two choices: the Nephalim project, or pick up Black Glass where I left it (chapter 24) and finish book one, start a good chunk of book two. I’ve finished two novels, but I haven’t finished a trilogy yet…
Oh my god, I’d have to buy myself three new electronic gadgets when I finish! Oh dear…
