Quarry
Upon arriving on the lifeless planet earmarked to be the site of their ‘Macro-Sculpting’ department’s Graduation Project, an activity involving turning entire mountains into works of art, a group of seven art students inadvertently discover the presence of a military group who appear to be there for the sole purpose of capturing and killing them. Using a combination of surprise and creativity to disrupt the well laid plans of their attackers, the students are forced into a situation their college courses never covered, and must use every ounce of courage and imagination to stay alive. In the midst of conflict, the group makes an additional discovery, one which explains the reason for the elaborate military operation. The nondescript and isolated planet, previously considered worthless, is positively littered with the most highly valued substance in the galaxy … a mineral vital for deep space travel and colonization which is only thought to exist in one place. Armed with their cunning, advanced geological information, and sculpting tools capable of reshaping entire mountains, the students begin to realize that their lives are the only thing standing between a truly ruthless government and their tenuous grip on a monopoly thats existed since the exploration of the galaxy began.
